1 yr RN experience in GI nursing, can I be a research nurse?

I am currently looking for a research RN job. I am wondering if the pharm. company will hire me with no previous research experience?
What does a research nurse do? Does a research nurse have to come in contact with physicians all the time?
I will have an interview with Covance I am wondering if I should ask for 50,000/yr? or this is too much?
Any info. will be great. Thanks.

Let them make an offer first - do not bring up salary. Check monster.com salary for your area. Usually, will be less than current hospital salary. Good way to get your foot in the door. That you were called for an interview is a good sign. Depends on the setting for what you will do. Ask for a job description.
