Subacute to acute inpatient rehabRegister Today!
- by nightowl29 Feb 7, '10Hello,
I've worked for the past couple of years in a subacute rehab facility which was connected to a hospital. I've recently moved and have been offered a job working acute inpatient rehab. I'm very excited for this job and the new challenges that it will hold. I'm a little nervous, however, about making the switch to a more acute setting and was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I can do to prepare myself to help make this transition as smooth as possible.

I would suggest that you brush up on heart rhythms for tele monitor pts, stroke rehab, central line care, dsg changes using the supplies that the new facility uses, procedures for hanging blood and related products. Your sub-acute experience will serve you well.
