New grad, 4 day orientation

  1. Hi all,
    I need advice.
I just started my first nursing job on a rehab floor at a skilled nursing facility.

we had a week of regular orientation and I am in my floor orientation set up currently.
what I did not know coming into this was that floor orientation would only be 4 days and then after that I would be on my own with 12 patients.
I have spent the last days up at night crying feeling overwhelmed because I have no idea what to do.
i have tried to contact my nurse manager to ask her about training for longer but she has not replied to my texts or emails.
im terrified about making a mistake.
    what should I do?

How did this end up working out?? Im starting a rehab job on the 11th, but in the interview I was told new grads get as much training as they need (typically 8 weeks) Instinctively I'd say run, as that sounds terrifying and I wouldn't want to risk my license .

Do you mean one week of the classroom blah, blah, blah and three days of the real deal?

LTC is notorious for minimal orientation.
