A year of time on my hands...LPN? until BSN program?

I applied to BSN program for August and didn't get accepted... I missed the deadline for TEAS testing by a week. Very competitive program. I have all pre-reqs under my belt for BSN b/c I already have BSed. and have taken other prereq courses already. So now I am not sure what path to take for a year.

Since I wasn't accepted this year into BSN program, I have to wait around another year to apply to local BSN program again. What should I do with this year? I have been a sahm for 5yrs and soon to be divorced. I have a 5yr old and a 3yr old. Both will be attending school.

Should I use this year and go LPN route? It's possible to achieve in one year. If I do get accepted into 2011 BSN program will I be able to work as LPN part time while completing program. Is this a smart move?

If I do go LPN route, is it possible to just apply to BSN program and not go LPN-BSN.

btw- ASN program deadline for 2010 is over. No chance with that either.

Well the end of the LPN program including you prepping for and taking the NCLEX might overlap with the beginning of your BSN year. Given that you have kids to raise, that doesn't sound at all comfortable. Can you find a job using your existing degree? It might be a good year to save up all the money you can.
