Searching for a job as a new grad

I just moved from Oklahoma and graduated nursing school May 2013. I am now in California, with 5 months ED experience and now finding a job is nearly impossible. Does anyone have any advice. I wish I didn't have to move so quickly from my job. Any comments are welcome! Thank you.

Well, California is a huge place with vastly different prevailing conditions.

That said, your best bet is to look rural... very, very rural... the tiny critical-access hospitals often have a tough time with recruiting and retaining nurses. The problems are, though, that they're generally far away from the population centers where most people (including you) live and they generally pay poorly.

Being a new grad, barely off orientation (if even), before leaving your first gig is a huge albatross, especially in one of the nation's very toughest job markets.

You'll probably need to consider LTC opportunities and have a very good story about how you find yourself in this situation.
