How long for RN to BSN?

Students ADN/BSN

Published

hi everyone! first post on here. What is the average length or time to complete an RN to BSN program? I plan to get my ADN and starting working. However most hospitals require that you finish your BSN within 3 years. Is it doable to work full time and complete the RN to BSN within 3 years?

Thank you!

Yes, that should be doable. The average length depends, it's taking my Aunt 18 months and a friend of mine 20 months. Both work full time and have kids. They're both going through Grand Canyon University online. If you bridge RN-BSN online, you can typically take more or less classes and therefore the length of the program would depend on how many classes you take per semester. Hope this helps!

I completed an online RN-to-BSN program in approximately 10 months while working 36 to 48 hours per week (three to four 12 hour night shifts each week). I started the program in May 2014 and was finished in March 2015.

If your question is being directed toward me, I completed the RN to BSN program through Western Governors Univ.

I worked full-time and did mine in 9 months but I planned ahead. Average seems to be 1-2 depending on how many extra fluff classes you have done.
