    Hi,

    I've applied to 2 ADN programs in the SF Bay area and perhaps will apply to some in LA. Basically, it doesn't look like I will get into any of them this semester (some wanted in person interviews for the admission process, and I was not able to make those dates as I was traveling). Anyways.. I will need to start working full time in about a month.. that won't leave my any time to pursue a nursing degree.. so my question is this.. would an online ADN program be possible/suitable? If so, what are the most reputable ADN online programs out there? (That may allow for someone that's working full time as well?)

    There are very few online nursing programs available for those with no nursing experience. The ones out there are expensive, and will still require you to have clinical experience...you get to call local hospitals and arrange the experiences yourself, which is sometimes quite difficult.

    To add to the previous poster, if you ARE able to find a mostly online ADN program you really want to make sure that it is reputable and accredited not only by your state BON but also CCNE or NLNAC accredited. Also you may want to check with other people who have went to such a program and how it is received. I had an interview at a hospital last year and was told flat out by nurse recruitment during my interview that they hire from all area schools close to me except ECPI because they felt those students were lacking in clinical hours and instruction.
