13 month Bsn for $9000? Whats the catch?

Or at least that's the catch with the comparable school I'm attending...

There is an ad on here from some university in Texas that advertises that,plus no pre reqs.
So what is the catch? Seems to good to be true.

That doesn't make any sense. You can't earn a BSN in 13 months without doing pre-reqs. Even RN-BSN programs have core curriculum (pre reqs) that have to be completed before beginning the program.

What university is it?

Like UTA is 13 months and under $9000 for RN-BSN but there is pre-reqs.... Like statistics, history, English comp, government etc etc etc and you have to be a licensed RN as well :)

Chamberlain is 12 months if you really hoof it, which they don't recommend, and the "pre-reqs" are actually co-reqs and are built into the program. I'll be done with it in 15 months total including co-reqs. Not bad, but I paid more than other programs for the time though.

I thought it was understood that i was referring to an Adn to Bsn program.

I guess if thats the case,there really are no pre-reqs.

Ive havent taken statistics;i have done everything else.

It appears the Texas university doesnt require as many co-reqs as other programs.

Youcant complete an Adn without them.

Around here,you have to complete those classes before you start the nursing portion of the Adn.

Seems long and expensive to me. 6-12 months and $6K sounds more reasonable. If you are having to take more than 7 classes (one of them stats) in an RN to BSN program I would consider a different program. There should be NO pre-reqs for an RN who earned an associates degree from an accredited college.

With that quote, they are assuming that you have completed all pre-requisites and would need just the nursing courses.

Reality: unless you have a degree from a college in Texas, you are going to need at least one pre-req, if not two: You have to take U.S. Government and Texas History. This isn't a scam on the part of UTA, but those classes are actually required to be in the curricula of any Texas college/university--you can't get a BA/BS anywhere without taking them.

Our ADN program doesn't require history. English comp 1 is part of the program, but not English comp 2.
