Re: Radiology Tech experience necessary?
No, you do not need to have experience as a Radiographer to become a Radiology Nurse but I think you will find it quite useful. May I suggest that you continue your Rad Tech program and after graduation ask to specialize in Interventional Radiology which is commonly referred to as Specials. Our Radiology Nurses start IVs for CT and MRI scans as well as IVPs. They rotate from Specials working on a team with the Radiologist, Anesthesiologist and the IR Rad Techs to the department starting IVs for exams that require contrast. Specializing in "Specials" with provide you with a great foundation if you decide to become a Rad Nurse later.
