by nataliernbsn May 15, '12I've been in IR for about a year and a half now and recently found out that I was pregnant. Is it safe at all to work in IR while I'm pregnant? I need to know because I just got hired in an IR outpatient center and don't know what to do.

This is not something we can properly advise. You need to ask your OB Healthcare Provider. They are the only ones who can give you the medical advice your require.

Go to your manager TODAY and inform him/her that you are pregnant.
There *should* be a departmental/institutional plan to protect pregnant employees who routinely work around radiation.
Good luck to you!Enthused_Nurse2B likes this.
