This is a discussion on QI qualification question in Quality Improvement, part of Nursing Specialties ... I work the night shift and find time to audit charts and find orders not properly transcribed, meds...
by StrEssEdX2 Jun 22, '06I work the night shift and find time to audit charts and find orders not properly transcribed, meds not DC'd, lab not notified of orders and so on. I drastically want to improve the facility I work in. Anyway, does the QI nurse have to be an RN and what is the proper job discription of a QI nurse?

What about making an Admission packet for new admits/re-admits, and have a check list attached of what has/has not been done?
My facility has a Lab book that we list labs that need to be done (twice a week, unless scheduled on a different day, d/t Dr. order),
My job description is evolving, but includes Infection control, making sure Doc's notified of labs, auditing charts for Diabetics and BGM/insulin/FBS orders, etc.
