Is anyone out there besides me doing HEDIS this year? Last year I was assigned 800+ charts to audit. For probably 400 of those, 3 of us went to the "desert" area to do them. This year I have 1274 to do by myself and possibly 6 or 7 hospitals yet to come. Think I'll just have my breakdown first this year:roll

Do you know of any telephonic Hedis that could be done from a home office?

I don't know of any but that doesn't mean they don't exist. The insurance co. I worked for would contact an office if they had less than 6 charts that the insurance company wanted to see. They would ask the office to copy and send the charts (or parts there of) that they wanted to see. We had to actually look at the chart and verify the info when we went to the offices/hospitals to audit.

GOOD LUCK and let us know if you find something that can be done from home.

I've recently moved to TX and, so far, have not found any HEDIS audits being done in my area...sure hope to find some.

What company are you working for? I am interested!!!

Marya

Would you mind giving me the name of the company who you are doing 1200 plus charts for this year?

I am interested if they need more hires.

Marya

Marya, it was spring of 2004 that I did the 1200 or so charts. I worked for Molina out of So. CA then. As I said, haven't found any companies to work for so far for the coming Spring audits of 2005.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Be extremely careful about a company in Kentucky. They were extremely unorganized - had just quickly moved from North Carolina (wonder why?).

I was never paid for the the two day training and was only paid for half of the charts I reviewed. Needless to say, I did not work for them very long!

If you are in this area and interested in the name of the company - personally e-mail me.

Specializes in MS Home Health.

I just applied and all the review positions were already filled for the spring! Shoot. The service area was a 150 mile radius/multiple states.

Who did you apply to who was filled up already?

I think I work for this company! I emailed you privately. Is there any way that I can make sure I get paid? Did you eventually get paid? The labor board here was very helpful in the past...but I don't know if they can help since the company is not in my state. They have some great lawyers. I can't imagine doing all this work and not getting paid!!! This is the first time I've done Hedis and I love it so far. Will get my first check next friday. Hope it's right!

My cousin, also an RN, alerted me to HEDIS chart audits. We have to go to the insurance company every year for 2 1/2 days of training and refresher and then pass a "test" with 95% accuracy.

I looked in the newspaper classifieds the first year starting in the fall or winter. After that, if you do a good job, the insurance company will contact you each year when it's time to work again. As I said before, it's only part-time, about 3 months, but it's a nice chunk of change and leaves me free to travel the rest of the year.

Hi there, I'm very interested too. I have recently retired but I miss the medical field. I am no longer able to do any type of floor nursing but I would love to do this or something from home. Any help?

Sorry to be so long in getting back to you but I've been traveling.

About November I would start looking on the web-based job sites, (such as Hot Jobs.com) and under key work put HEDIS. Companies generally do training in Feb. so they start early looking to fill the jobs. If you don't find anything then, just keep looking. Sure hope you aren't out in the middle of nowhere like I am...there aren't ANY here. GOOD LUCK!!
