When Congress balanced the budget in the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 (BBA), it cut funding and unintentionally hurt teaching hospitals, home to more than half of all pediatric intensive care units, 61 percent of regional trauma centers, and 70 percent of all burn care units. If Medicare cuts continue, Americans stand to lose the urgent health care services they depend on. You can stop the cuts.
