Never heard of the 2007 National Patient Safety Goal 15A. What are you talking about? I'm in NC too, so please share some info about this.

#15E The organization identifies patients at risk for suicide
Intent of the requirement
Ensures all patients in the hospital with suicide risk are identified upon admission
Includes all units within a general acute care hospital where a patient with a co-occurring behavioral health issue resides (ie intentional drug overdose on ICU).
Does not include patients on medical floors with a co-occurring behavioral health issue that is not an identified presenting problem (ie patient on anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medication who is being treated for an unrelated medical condition).
They take effect Jan 2007... there is an entire list but this is only one that pertains to this issue
