Planning on starting online pmhnp program next summer 2017, any suggestions on programs that are not wildly expensive but have good reputation. Any other input on pmhnp gladly accepted.

Was looking at UAB.

Thanks.

University of St Francis in Joliet, IL is a very good program.

However for the practica you have to live in IL, IN, Iowa, Wisc, AZ or NM

Eastern Kentucky University

Specializes in Psychiatry.

I am looking into University of North Dakota- it's primarily online and I live in CT.

I cannot find info on whether I can practice in CT since the university is out of state. Does anyone know this info or where I can find it? Thanks

I looked at UND but I didn't find them very helpful. After adding in the cost of commuting those few times, and the prospect of finding my own preceptors, I decided to stay local. The slight savings I would have experienced really wasn't worth the extra time I'd have to spend if I went with UND.

Specializes in Forensics, OB, QI.

I had no idea about this program. This may be a contender.

Specializes in PACU.

I just applied to Stony Brook PMHNP program. It's mostly online and has a good reputation as far as I know! I know in state tuition isn't bad, not sure about non-resident.

Specializes in Outpatient Psychiatry.

Public universities in the state you have residency.

Or Arkansas. Cheap.

Seems ITT Tech is out.

I am presently attending UND for a post-master's in PMHNP. When I was first thinking about the program, I emailed both the PMHNP track director and the overall director of the nursing graduate programs. Both answered me promptly and when they didn't know the answer to my questions, they searched for the answer, and got back to me in a very timely manner. So that said, I would simply contact UND and inquire as to your questions about doing practicum in CT.
