I am trying to locate a good book on passive-aggressive personality types but all I've found are text books and books written about men (aren't women P-A too?). Does anyone on this thread know of a good book on this topic? I would greatly appreciate it.

Passive aggressive isn't a personality disorder. It is a maladaptive and immature (underdeveloped) defense mechanism. Normally people who utilize this appear to be compliant however covertly there is resistance and resentment. Also, the aggression is towards others which is expressed passively through procrastination, failure, inefficiency and illnesses that affect other people more than the person who is using it. (Foundations of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, 2006)
An example would be someone who made plans to meet for dinner; however, that person really doesn't want to go and instead of being assertive and stating that they don't want to go, they just don't show up.
