LPN in Psychiatric nursing..scope of practice

Hello. I will be graduating shortly with my LPN license. I will be applying for a position at a local state institute soon. In my area they utilize LPN's. I was supposed to be doing volunteer work this summer at this facility but because of our state budget problems and the abscense of the volunteer director I wasn't able to do so. I will hopefully be starting my RN BSN next fall while still gaining experience working part time as an LPN.

I live in PA and was wondering if any members here work in a facility that utilize LPN's. Since I was unable to do my volunteering I didn't get to see what the LPN role is in this field. I am aware of the difference in scope of practice between LPN and RN in PA but I know hospitals utilize thier own set of boundaries on top of the BON regulations.

I would appreciate any info. Thanks in advance for any advice. I admire all of you for choosing this speciality and I am excited to move forward with my education and join you. Only a few more years.
