job interview

by heavymetalrn Premium Member

anybody worked as a behaviorial health specialist RN at home through a medical recruitment agency? i was told i have to buy my own monitor/desktop ... they wont allow laptop...do home psych visits in a 16 mile radius...she sent me the job description on line...sounds like i have no other human being live contact/ nursing support except the agency that are based out of town...

i am scared to take this job...they did not tell me how much i was earning ...the recruiter who called me who is based outside of my state (judge .com) are not nurses..??

any advice/feedback appreciated...

Far too many unanswered questions, as far as I'm concerned. The fact that they want you to provide your own equipment (and they also want to dictate the type) is a big red flag for me. It sounds like this company is trying to do things on the cheap and they expect you to fill in the gaps. The fact that they haven't discussed salary is also a big issue. Perhaps they pay so little that they want to get you interested in the job before they drop that particular bomb on you.

I would treat this job like a live grenade, unless the alternative is unemployment.

Sounds like this bunch is operating on a shoestring. Unfortunately, with the economy and jobs being the way they are, it is likely that more employers will operate like this - passing expenses on to the employee that they should be covering, being evasive about salary, etc.

Best of luck to you.
