Private duty Director of Nursing salary & job description?

  1. 0 Can anyone tell me how much a DON of a private duty home care makes? Also, are they usually required to be on-call? Any other info much appreciated; have an interview later this week for this position. My background is Medicare home care, quality assurance and case management.

DON is usually on backup call 24/7, 365 days yr. Depending on how large agency is , # supervisory staff + #yrs home care experience along with how well run agency is will determine amount calls received nightly. ( Insist on blackberry phone so can screen vm from answering service.)

Salary range is lower than for Skilled Medicare agency ~ $75,000 - 80,000 to start with no Management experience.

The job postings that I have seen that gave salary information matched what Karen states above, $70,000 to $80,000.
