Just a quick question

  1. 0 Currently am taking a break from working, until I get some family issues resolved. However, I saw an ad for PT private duty. It just got me thinking for in the future. Does PD entail housework, cooking, and laundry? I need a job that is not physically demanding and lower stress.

if this job is thru an agency, paid for by ins., no. If this is strictly private then i would think it is open to negotiation.....GET THAT UP FRONT!

That would depend if it is private duty as a nurse assistant (home care aide) or as a nurse. Generally speaking, nurses (LPN or RN) would not do housework, cooking or laundry. But for nurse assistants, light housekeeping is sometimes part of the job.

depends if it is for a nursing position or aide position. usually as a nurse no house-work, cooking or laundry.

also pdn is not as stressful or strenous, just depends on the pt. i have taken care of a 17 yr old male that had cp and was wc bound, he was 92lbs of dead weight. also had a 7 yr female that was 60lbs dead weight.

my current pt is only 15.8lbs which is much easier to move!

good luck and i hope things work out.
