Feast or Famine / Private Duty in South Fl.

I've been giving private care in the Palm Beaches for 30 years and could write a book! Once I tried private duty, I never looked back. I knew it was my calling. I have worked as an independent contractor and with agencies. Most of my clients are private pay seasonal residents. Needless to say, work is great during our 5 month winter season but I expect only a trickle of work off season. When young nurses ask me about going into the private duty field, I always tell them that it's great if you don't need the money. As a result of the inconsistent income and lack of health/retirement benefits, I've seen many great nurses come and go. I love this forum-I can stay connected with others in my same field. Do you know any sites that connect nurses directly to patients?

Wow, I would love to read that book! I am on the west coast of Fl, and am interested in switching to PD. If you would be interested in receiving comments/questions etc I have many!
