Would this be considered competitive?

GPA: 3.0 I believe

my overall GPA is 3.56

I'm trying to get into a CSU university.

So I'm pretty much a B average student in the sciences. Should I even bother repeating a class? I still have yet to take my TEAS exam in the summer.

I would love to have your stats. Im not sure how competitive your school is but it looks great to me. Kick butt on your TEAS :)

Really? I don't. Because just those 4 core classes I am at a minimum of a 3.0 and that's the gpa that most nursing schools want. :/ I also have no volunteer experience working at a hospital which worries me. I just applied to only schools that are based by the gpa than experience.

Funsized, Bellevue College goes entirely on the TEAS. In case of a tie, then GPA is used to rank. But if you have very high scores on the TEAS, you are pretty much guaranteed acceptance to Bellevue. Or so the nursing advisor told me. And volunteer or work activity is not a factor or even included in any of the application materials.

I'm applying at CSU with the same gpa, haven't taken the teas yet either. I've worked in the restaurant business for 8 years but that probably doesn't count as work experience.

That depends of the schools you are applying to. Those grades would get you into some programs where I live in the NY metro area. However, I have heard that California programs are severely impacted. So honestly it might not be enough for CSUs.

You need to knock the TEAS out of the park. The TEAS is generally counted as heavily as each of those. Study hard, and don't plan to repeat it.

Do you have any volunteer experience? Some schools weigh that heavily as well.

Some schools won't accept repeated courses. You need to look at their repeat policies, but most schools won't let you repeat for grade improvement if you have a B anyway.

Are you also looking at ADN programs with lottery systems? That might be good to do just in case. Apply everywhere you could feasibly attend.

If by CSUs you mean CA schools, I'm afraid it's probably not enough from the sounds of how competitive the area is. I would apply to some schools with a lottery system and retake a class or two in the meantime. And kick but on the TEAS!

Hello everyone!

I am planning to apply to TWU Dallas for the Spring 2015 term. I am completing my pre reqs this Spring Semester. I have 4/4 As for the preferences courses. My the end of this term I will have a 3.8+ GPA. I volunteer at Methodist Dallas Hospital. I haven't taken my TEAS V exam yet (I will 04/28), but i took the online practice one and got a 76.8% (without studying). What are my chances of getting into the program?? I'm freaking out about that TEAS V exam. :(

Yes, I mean CA. I'm applying to 9 different nursing schools I have in mind. The physio and micro is what I currently have as grades at the moment. Physio is kicking my butt and I'm at 85%.

Not to be sound so condescending, but Jenizv12, I find it very rude you post your issue on my thread. It doesn't help my problem. If it was a mistake of a post in the wrong thread, then it's understandable.
