So far I'm am failing my BIO 1200 class. I currently hold a D. Do you think it would be best to withdrawal before the deadline or count inure to push through? I really want atleast a B in this class but I don't think that's possible.

No. Fundamentals of biology

Do you know the reason you are not doing well?

Doing bad on test. I'm not retaining none of the information.

OK I would suggest you analyze your study techniques. Understand that new information does not just stick in your brain, it takes much repetition and discussion of the subject. When you take the tests do the questions seem familiar or does it feel like it is all new?

Hi! lol. Have you gone to any tutoring? I agree with the poster above about changing your study habits. Maybe try flash cards if your not already doing so. What helps me is reading the book, and highlighting important information. Then I take notes of what I read, then I rewrite those notes multiple times before it sticks. Then I do the questions in the book. I also try to apply the info to something personal. I hope that you don't have to drop the class, but if you feel like there is no turning it around that would probably be best you don't want any low grades dragging down your average. Just make sure it doesn't effect financial aid if you are receiving it. Good luck.

Yes. I finally got a tutor. I had to keep checking everyday. I guess theres only one biology tutor and he only tutors on Tues. I think i can get at least a C in this class if I stick it out. I really don't want to take it over it will push me back a semester.

That's great. I'm surprised they would only have one biology tutor. they need to fix that lol. I'm glad you decided to stick it out.

WITHDRAW NOW !!!!!! BATTLESHIP SUNK !!!! BATTLESHIP SUNK !!!!

Most schools will not count W's against you because they do NOT factor into GPA (main scoring criteria for apps). My university did not count W's against you or even inquire why I dropped a previous class... The masters program I'm applying for does NOT count W's either.

In some rare instances, you may have to explain what happened--at which point you can use a myriad of heartfelt excuses or explain difficulties in your life at that point.

However, a D will likely be IMPOSSIBLE to recover from in terms of overall and science core GPA.... repeated classes are typically counted against you or schools only factor your first attempted grade anyway--and they will lower your GPA regardless...
