Will I be punished for all B's?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello!

I am currently a KSU pre-nursing student. For the most part I have 2 A's 2 C's and a BUNCH of B's. I have an A and B in Math's, B and C in Chem. I am currently taking AP I which I anticipate a B. I want to go to KSU for my nursing. my GPA is 2.97 not including this semester. Are my grades not meeting the par? Do I NEED to retake classes? I feel like I have options at other nursing schools, but I am not sure. Can you guys help me out with some advice?

Nursing school is very competitive, and many schools have a minimum GPA requirement well above a 3.0. In fact, many schools are denying admissions to students who have a GPA above the minimum requirement as seats are limited and many qualified applicants apply for them. What other schools do you think are options? Not all schools are equal- you should check the first time NCLEX pass rates on those schools with lower acceptance requirements. Generally, those types of schools are not viewed favorably by potential employers.

@Rose_Queen. Well, I can go to for my ADN and they may be more forgiving, but I eventually want to go towards my BSN. I Know Ga. Highlands are accepting of grades. I mean, I guess I can retake some classes and build my gpa up. I mean, currently there are no available slots for AP II nor Micro this upcoming spring semester. So, I can retake some classes and hopefully the classes I desire open up in the Summer.
