What are my chances

Hi everyone,

My name is Jenn and I'm new here. Here's my story:

I worked in radio for 13 years and after getting laid off last year, I decided to become a nurse. I graduated William Paterson University in NJ in 1992 Cum Laude with a 3.61 GPA and a BA in Communications.

I took my pre-req's last semester (Chem, A&P, Soc, Health) at Essex County College (ECC) and with 14 credits, I got a 4.0. I am taking the NLN-Pax on Sept 24th.

I know ECC will take NLN score and GPA in core classes into consideration for acceptance in to nursing program. Those core classes are: Eng, Chem, A&P I. My English was an advanced placement from my senior year in high school in 1987 and I got a B. Credits came from Seton Hall University. So my GPA in the core classes is 3.66. Other factors affecting acceptance are repeating of a science class and whether or not you are a county resident (no and yes respectively.) BTW only NLN scores above 50th percentile will be considered.

Question: How much of my prior schooling is taken into consideration with getting into nursing school? I'm not a traditional student. I'm 38 1/2 and already holding a BA degree with honors. It's a shame I got the B in Eng, but that was 22 years ago and in an AP class in high school.

Just nervous about things!!
