What classes will I need to take?

by sbm3x

Hi everyone, this is my first post so I'm hoping that I'm posting this in the right discussion forum...So I've been thinking about going to college to get a 2 yr degree(associate degree-RN) now I am a little confused will I have to take basic classes (algebra, science...) or do I jump into the Pre-Requisites? Any help will be appreciated.

Thats going to depend on your college and test score on SAT and or ACT. Your college advisor would be the best person to ask about that.

you'll probably have to finish a general education pattern as well as additional prereqs for your nursing program. (note: it will take you more than two years to finish everything). check with a counselor or on your school's website. i'd start doing them all at once if i were you, mix and match prereqs with GE classes to get them all finished before applying. you probably won't have time to do GE once you're in the program

Hold the phone.

Lets start at the beginning. For an ADN program, your general ed classes + your prereq's will allow you to APPLY to a nursing program.

You need to see an advisor pronto.

Like others have said, speak to an advisor. Most college websites also lay out exactly what is expected of a potential nursing candidate

Good Luck
