Waiting on acceptance/rejection letters

Great post to start! I too am waiting on a couple of accelerated BSN Program Acceptances (or rejections I guess though I prefer to think postitive!!) It is so stressful playing the waiting game...

And to top it all off I am stressed about my lease!

One of the programs I applied for is local and the other is only localish - it is a good 45 minutes away and possibly an hour. Because it is an accelerated program I am told to expect 16-18 hours per day in class, clinicals and studying - so I can't add a 2 hour roundtrip commute to that! I have to notify my apartment my mid next month if I am not renewing my lease or pay the month to month rental which I just found out is $410 more per month than I am currently paying!!!!!! AHHHHHHH I can't afford that. I have no idea what to do!

I have a 3.7 GPA with A's in AP I&II and finished Micro with an 89% B. we are required to take the NLN PAX-RN and I scored a 125. We are not required to do an interview. I'm applying for an ASN program since I will only be in this area just enough time to complete it! My husband is in the military so we move around a good bit.

Oh my gosh, I would be going nuts too....I don't even know what to suggest because I understand the concept of us surrounding our lives around nursing school. Well.....maybe you can go to your parents house if they are close by.

I'm in the same boat! The application deadline is March 1st and acceptance letters don't go out until the last week of April. I'm going to be a nervous wreck for nearly 2 months!!! :eek: :eek: :eek:

If I do get accepted, I will either be in the Fall 2013 cohort or the Spring 2014 cohort. Not sure which one they're going to put me in, if I get in. I'm hoping it'll be Fall 2013!!!

What type of program are you applying to where you can't specify when you want to start? I am just wondering not bashing the program. That's a first for me. I am applying for the fall and my deadline for being notified is the same as your deadline (March 1) financial aid notification will still take a while though...

I too am waiting. I applied to only one program as I am not 100% done with all of the pre reqs needed. I received a call from a very excited Admissions counselor letting me know that I still needed to send my HS transcript over but regardless I should be ok. I just found out and I quote " the nusing committee sees' your potential but would like you to succsesfully complete developmental psych before you're accepted!" I was crushed with this news seeing that spring semester is not over until May 15th.

I'm trying to be optomistic that they will still have a spot for me come May but I'm very doubtful

Oh, my GPA is a 3.6

I'm waiting too and it is killing me!! My deadline was Jan 15th and we should hear anytime in the next week or two I would think. Ugh. Everytime my phone tells me I have new email my heart beats faster.

That is a really quick turn around for decision however, you should feel fortunate.

The program I am waiting to hear from, and am most optimistic about, had a deadline of Dec. 1. The best they could tell me was that I would know by April. (5 months are you kidding me?!?) However, I do know for the past Spring cohort they were notified in about a 7 week period. I just passed the 8 week mark....so I keep thinking and hoping for any day now...any day now!

I'm currently taking other classes so my mind has been focused on those, but anytime I get a break and a chance to just think the letter comes up. I just try to stay positive.

UGH- I know this feeling! I've applied for an ABSN in Indianapolis, the deadline to apply is March and they don't let us know until May. It's torturing me, but I'll hopefully be able to forget about it in the meantime. The program ONLY looks at GPA so I've seen people on here say they had a 3.8 something and almost didn't get in! My application GPA was a 3.79 for the prerequisites and I feel like it's strong, but I know if enough other people come along with a 4.0, 3.9, and 3.8 I may not make the cut!

I also do not get a reply until the first week of April and to somewhat relax, I am now working two jobs, this way I have a lot of money saved for the program, and keep my mind busy, but thats sooo not helping. This is just torture because it is all I can think about......I'm so happy you guys are replying because no-one can understand the dedication and passion and obsession that I have with being a nurse than those who share the same feeling and this is a great way to share that since you guys won't get tired of listening lol.
