waiting list

  1. Hey everyone . Just some questions for those of you who got waiting list letters/ Did you just wait however long until u got accepted or did u keep applying. Did applying agian help u get in sooner? Also what did you do while waiting to get accepted. I'm still doing my pre reqs and haven't applyed yet, but I just wanted to know. Thanks.

I think it may be different at each school. Where I will be applying it is a lottery system. If you did not get "picked" a letter is generated and you have the option to re-enter the lottery. You do not apply all over again.

Once I complete the Sp 05 semester (my last pre-reqs) I have to wait one whole semester to apply. I will first be eligible for the lottery in the Fall 05. Then I get to hold me breath.... :stone

    Best wishes on your pre-reqs!

It was a lottery, but once you have a umber you keep moving up the list. We don't have to reapply each year.

My school also has a wait list of about one year after you apply. I applied last august and will be able to start nursing classes in the fall. I have spent this year taking all my other classes needed for my ADN degree. This way when August comes I will only have nursing classes to take

I wish ours was like that...

You are put back into the general pool with ALL the applicants.

However, after 4 consecutive misses you do get into a "special" pool of just those who are as unlucky as you..... they have a few spots just for them...

I am thinking positive tho..... and also taking the extra classes to go onto State. One reason that I need to keep my GPA in excellent condition as that actually means something there!

For our community college, you apply to the registrar when you have A&P 1, Psychology, College Algebra and I, believe, English 1 done. Then you are put on a waiting list. Once all of your prereqs are finished, your application is forwarded to the nursing department (this happens during the beginning of each semester). According to the nursing department, applicants are notified when they will be able to start. There are occasions where students may be given a later date, like the Fall of '05 but are put on a waitlist for Spring '05. All applicants must have all of their classes finished before they can start the nursing program. I've actually had everything done last Fall ('03), but I didn't apply then. so hopefully I'll be picked for next Fall '05.
