my school is just under 10,000 a semester - it is so crazy the difference in prices from a private and public institution
Our community college is $75 a credit
But the way I look at it: I would have been on the waiting list for 3 years at the community college and the difference in income for that three years - I was making about 13$ an hour before, and should make around 25 as an RN, so 3 years of 12$ an hour difference is around 75,000 (rough estimates of projected salary, taxes etc) For 2 years the difference in price is about 36,000 which is much less than the 75,000 more I can make in those three years after I become an RN.
If there were no waiting lists I would have gone the community college route because of $$. I was fortunate enough to get a decent scholarship so I don't have to worry about the price difference and I will be a nurse 3 years earlier.

CC I'm taking classes with right now is $65/credit (non-nursing courses). The one I'll probably be transferring to is $47/credit (non-nursing) and $57/credit (nursing).

There's one cc in our state which for its non-nursing courses, umm, you can take up to six credits and it'll cost you $100 total. I kid you not. Don't ya'll wish you could take prereqs through there!

There is something to be said for CC in California, they raised our tution my first year here nearly doubling it in 04 I now pay a whopping 26 dollars a credit. They really get ya on books though more then double my tuition.

Community colleges are $75.00/credit hour. 4 year colleges are roughly $9,000 - $10,000 per semester. Graduate schools roughly $15,000 per semester.

I took a class at MiraCosta Community College in 1988... it was a whopping $5 a credit!!! And I remember people being outraged at *that* because they thought tuition should stay free.

My CC in CA for this semester was $26/credit, but I heard it's going down to $20 for next semester.:wink2: It was only $13 when I went 10 years ago.

    CC $850/semester + $56 Nursing Fee + $40 Lab Fee

Tuition was only $600/semester back when I took pre-req's

Total cost of education: under $7000 (including books)

...well, at least until I start applying for license and NCLEX at the end of this semester

I goto Northwestern State University in Louisiana and I pay about $5000 per semester. Geeeeez how do you other guys pay for University education?? I had no idea Louisiana schools were so reasonable. I thought I had it bad! We have a program called TOPS that pays our tuition if we did really well in highschool and took certain courses.

wow I wish I had gone in 88 lol I was in Tx then and I can't remember what I paid but it was cheap too thats why I moved there, I was living in NH and we didn't have anything like that at all everything was 4 year and very expensive. I started back in school here in Ca in 04 tuition was still 12 a credit and then the next semester they more then doubled it to 26 I really couldn't complain LOL.
