Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone!

I'm new to this site, but I love what I see already. Lots of great tips!! I just have a question about the classes I plan on registering for, for the spring of 2015. The pre-reqs for the ADN program (that I haven't already completed) are A&P 1, micro, & pharmacology. I also plan on taking Life span, growth, & dev. as my last course. Is it unheard of to take these classes together? I've gotten some *bulging eyes* from previous nursing students when I mention my first semester course load. Also, I'm a mommy, so I have to balance my family life as well as this course load. I have a 1 1/2 year old and I'm due October 28th with my second. TIA for any advise.

Were you in school when you had your first? My best advice is take it as easy as possible with a newborn. I have 6 kiddos and 4 of them while in school. I did my worst with a newborn except the one with colic who never slept, I aced all those classes bc I never slept! LOL

Oh geez! No I didn't have my first while in school, so I have no idea how hard it'll be, but I'll take your word for it. Lol

To boost your credits up to full time, consider taking an online class. Then, you will have more flexibility and be at home more. Also, don't forget the 1 credit (1 day) CPR classes. Best wishes!

If I'm already an EMT and have a current CPR license, do I still need to redo it?

You will need to maintain a current CPR certification, yes.
