Too early to apply for grants/scholarships?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi everyone.

I will be starting my nursing program (MSN which grants a BSN and RN license halfway through) in the spring of 2015.

However, would it be possible to apply for grants or especially scholarships now when I have the most free time to do the extra work of applying, writing essays, etc? Or is it too early since my program haven't even started yet?

In your opinion, are loans the majority of your tuition? How "easy" is it to get additional grants or scholarships in an MSN program as compared to BSN program?

thanks!

Have you been in touch with the financial aid/scholarship office at the school? They would be your best resource for this. Look at application periods and criteria for each scholarship. They vary widely. For some, this is exactly when you should be applying.

I can't speak to loans for MSN versus BSN programs, but again, I think speaking with the financial aid office will answer a lot of these questions for you. Good luck, and congrats on your acceptance!
