to email or not Admissions Director

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

hi all, i've been applying to nursing schools. i've met the admissions officer at my first choice school. as admissions decisions are nearing, someone suggested that i email the admissions director, who has a lot of sway, to email her and reaffirm that the school is my first choice.

thoughts? opinions?

i did send them a thank you card after submitting my app, since i've made multiple visits to the admissions office. it is my alma mater

I don't think it's a good idea. They probably have a lot of applications and if everyone emailed him/her, that's an additional thing that they have to consider. If your grades aren't as good enough as all the other applicants it doesn't matter whether or not the school is your first choice.

I agree. I think it's excellent you wrote a thank you note :) However right around when decisions are being made I wouldn't interfere.... But that's honestly just an opinion :)

Hello again,

Also I would not email the admission's director. If you are qualified and are determined then they will admit you based on that criteria. Emailing to get a leg up in the game looks tacky. But I do agree the thank you card was a nice gesture! :)
