Teas Oct. 24th - Got the Results!

by kimsjc

I took the Teas this past Saturday at Samuel Merritt. Logged on this afternoon and got the results.

I'm happy to say I got an 88.8 composite. 97.5 reading, 88.9 math, 80.0 science and 89.1 english. Whew! I'm happy I won't have to take it again!

There were three earth science questions that I can remember. One was about the hydrological cycle, how it receives it's energy - radiant heat from sun. Another about type of rock formed near a river - I answered sedimentary. There was a diagram of the ocean and what appeared to be a fissure in the ocean floor, question was along the lines of what it represented. The questions could be answered if you get the ATI book and review the earth science section. The rest of the science section was challenging, some physics questions about force (book on a table), another about making it easier for a person in a wheelchair to go up a ramp (I answered make the ramp longer - that reduces the slope). Chemistry questions about ionic bonds, kcal/energy, periodic table, electron/neutron/protron configuration of an element. Genetics question about heterozygeous trait, required doing a punnett square to get answer. That's all I can remember right now. Wasn't as bad as I though it would be.

Congrats! Do you feel that the ATI book was sufficient preparation, or was further study needed?

Hi kimsjc,
Thanks for the detail explanation on your TEAS test. It seemed like the science part wasn't too hard. I will go over my lecture notes on earch science and periodic table.

Congrats!!!!!!!!! I took my TEAS test in September 2009, but we only had the math part and the reading part. And it wasn`t bad at all. I think the ACT is harder. I was lucky and got accepted for the RN program at our Community College (NWCC Mississippi), for Spring 2010. On the 2 November I have to pre- register. I am still in shock and I am so excited.
