Uggghhh.....

The school I just transferred to transferred my Chemistry classes funny. Anyways, the nursing path Chemistry is beyond booked. I had to register in General Chemistry II...the pre-med route. Good thing is I called the school I want to go to and they said they will count the Gen Chem II class in my science GPA.

Now I have my work cut out for me since I never took Gen Chem I at this school. Well I guess I am going to have work so much harder for that 4.0.

Now my schedule is this:
AP I
Gen. Chem II
Phi 239- African Philo. (online)
Eng- Contemp. Urban writers (online)
Hie 343- The Holocaust

I will pray for all of you please do the same for me!!

Oh yeah!!! Other future students! It seems so far away - Fall 2010 - but I know it will creep up fast! I'm north of Tampa, FL trying to get into Pasco-Hernando Community College.

Fall '09
A&P I and retaking a comp. pre-req (I took it and got cred/nocred for my bach.)

Spring '10
Either Micro or A&P II

Summer '10
Whichever of the above that I didn't take in Spring

A&P I and the comp class are the only pre-reqs. The other classes are embedded in the NUR program and are the last of non-NUR classes I can take. I've already taken Stat, English, and Psych as well as a number of other classes when I got my B.S. in '03

You know, I will be honest here - when I decided to go for this, it never even crossed my mind that I might not get into school, what with the bad economy and all the people like me who are going back to school. So I am really busting my behind to get all A's and I'm going to study like mad for the TEAS!

Well, after changing my schedule a couple dozen times I have settled on this:

Fall 09:
A & P I w/Lab
Statistics
Speech
English I

Spring 09:
A & P II w/lab
Micro w/lab
English II
Growth & Development Psych

I am taking the English, Psych, and Statistics classes online. The science courses will be on campus. There is no way I can do those online LOL. I am from north Texas and I'm trying to get into Grayson County College's ADN program. I have to take the HESI in Feb/March and the deadline to apply is March 31st. I'm so excited!

Well I have changed my schedule again. The final selections are:
API
General Chemistry II (pre-med track)
The Holocaust
American Minority Literature
A gen education course

Hopefully in the Spring I will be taking:
APII
Intro to Logic
Moral Problems
Speech Comm.

But I am just focusing on Fall 2009. If I don't do well I can kiss nursing school goodbye.

GOOD LUCK ALL!!!!!

Add me to the list! Taking pre-reqs fall 09: eng111, cis110, bio111, a&p I, psy 150. Getting my cna in the spring and taking some more classes. I'm planning to apply in the spring for the fall 2010, but I may not get in because I wont have all my pre-reqs done. I'm just hoping that the ones I DO have done will be enough to get me in!

Well, I'm kind of undecided. I keep waffling on whether or not I feel I'm up to the challenge of nursing. But as of now I'm registered for A&PI, A&PII, Chemistry, Nutrition and Growth & Development. And I work full-time. LOL! I went ahead and registered for the classes so they wouldn't get full. I have some time to make my decision and then I'll drop what I don't want to take. The ADN program I'm interested in "suggests" that A&P be completed before applying. In other words, chances of getting in without them being completed (i.e. not in progress), is minimal. The BSN and CNL programs I'm interested in just require that the classes be in progress, but I'd need both A&Ps, Chemistry, Nutrition, G&D and Micro. I've taken all the science classes but took them too long ago for them to count. So I have to do two things: (1) make a decision on whether or not I want to pursue nursing and (2) if I do, decide which program I'd rather apply to. That will determine what I actually end up taking this fall.

Now, isn't that WAY more than you wanted to know?

I am in SW Pa and I am planning on applying this winter for the fall 2010 NS start.
I am currently taking:
Chem
Nutrition
Marketing (just for "fun"?)

This fall
A&P 1
College Writing
Business Math (need one more math)

Next Spring:
this is not set in stone and will depend on what my advisor well, advises me to take. In the nursing program at my school the pre-reqs are scheduled in with nursing classes.. but I am hoping to have those done ahead of time.
A&P 2
Micro
Advanced Comp
And that's it for pre-reqs~ wow!

Hey y'all! I'm taking A&P II and retaking Abnormal Psych (last time I took it was about 7 years ago, and this class needs to be taken within 5 years of applying. I took A&P I at the same time, so that should be interesting getting reaquainted with it all) for the fall semester. Spring 2010 I plan on taking microbiology. I have the TEAS exam next week!

I'm applying for the summer 2010 and fall 2010 semesters at a bunch of places here in the Atlanta metro area. Hopefully I'll get accepted into one of the accelerated 2nd degree programs, but if not, I'll be cool with the traditional programs as well!
