Study Strategy for A&P I Lecture Exam

Hi Everybody,

I am studying for a Anatomy & Physiology I lecture exam on the bones, skeletal tissues and joints. I am listening to lecture on recorder and looking at power points from Professor lecture. Then I've read the chapters a couple of times and looked over Chapter objectives and reviewed lecture notes I took during lecture. Is there anything else I can do to retain the information? I got a 74% on first lecture exam. I seem to be scoring in the 70 percentile on my tests. My first practical was 72%. I need to shoot for at the least 85% range. How can I do better on lecture exams? Oh by the way it was the essay questions that really got me on the lecture exam is there anyway to prepare for essay questions? Thanks for any suggestions.... (I think I did well on bone practical, but I haven't got score back yet)

I study the same, except add in uploading flashcards from the power point. Fortunately my exams are multiple choice, although my professor will spend a few class lectures on something such as the Action Potentials in the Nervous System and all that goes along with it, only to have 1 or 2 questions on it, on the flip side spends a few seconds on something that ends up having 5+ questions on them. I know, my professor will do the same thing, she will ask lots of questions on something she spoke very little on. As far as the short answer questions (essay questions) I think I know what topic she is going to ask a question on but I'm not sure. So I am reviewing the subject matters that I think she will ask a question on. I guess I just need to study the concept and try and understand the process well enough to put in my own words. That is the hardest is part is writing on paper my understanding of the material. Is there a website or book on how to respond to short answer questions? I guess its a matter of critical thinking.
