Spring 2013 Admission

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Just submitted my application for the spring 2013 semester, so now I get to wait for my acceptance/rejection letter starting today! (way to make time move slower) Anyone waiting with me?

We can take our CNA test after our class. I'm not sure if the testing fee is included in the class fee or not. We don't HAVE to take the CNA test for the nursing program, we just need the skills. I was in a previous nursing program in another state (transferred and have to start all over) & I could, theoretically, get my old instructors to fill out a paper stating I have been signed off on the CNA skills, but I want to take the class do I can test. Plus I want to do some nursing stuff this fall before nursing classes start in spring. :)

I'm waiting to hear back for an accelerated program. Application was easy enough and there are no entrance exams, whew. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but trying to forget about it for a little bit too. It will be a few months before I hear back from the school.

Hello Jenndavis,

What school did you apply to?

I'm 99.8% sure I won't be getting in for the Spring 2013 semester (my school does rolling admissions), but my application IS in at last!!! :yeah: A whole degree's worth of prerequisites later, but all of the requirements are finally done!

What is rolling admission? So are you getting in?

As it was explained to me by another student: "You'll get in when you get in."

Basically, they continuously take in applications. Their only decision criteria is if the application is complete. Once your application is complete, you are on a perpetual wait list until there is a space for you in the program.

From there, it is all based on numbers. If they have 30 seats for Fall, and you are application number 1-30, you'll get in. If you are application number 31, then you'll be first in line for the next admit. There are two full-time programs: the Fall cohort and Spring cohort.

Applied today and will be a total wreck until November when I find out. Ugh why does it have to take so log?!

Wow! My school deadline was July 15. Letters will be going out for the next two weeks. Let me rephrase it the next two loooooonngg weeks. I have done good by not thinking about it. I have been trying to keep busy so I will not have to think about it. I am getting butterflies. My points are the highest that they have ever been, but I don't know what the competition is looking like. I am trying to stay positive. I have been really spending a lot ot time on allnurses too so that I can occupy my time. I be reading about the sleepless students with the week full of lectures, labs, and clinicals. All I can do is wish that was me lol.

I am with you on the waiting. All we know is that we will receive our letter "no later than November 1". So I have been keeping track of how many days until November 1. I think that makes it a lot worse! I have been trying to find all kinds of projects and outing to keep busy to keep my mind off of it, but nothing seems to help. It is by far the biggest thing I have done for myself my entire life and I cannot wait to find out if I have made it or not.

Good luck everyone!!

I handed my application in about mid July. The deadline was August 15th and they said letters go out by mid September. I'm just trying not to think about it!

You had to have applications in by June 1, for the January 2013 programs.

There were 3 programs

2 year day ADN

1 1/2 LPN to RN

3 year night ADN

The day and LPN to RN , we all found at the beginning of August.

The night program will find out in September.

Good luck everyone.
