I am ready to start school this fall.
My ultimate goal is CNM/MSN from Frontier.
I have no nursing background what so ever. Located in Louisville, KY
I'd like to take the fastest (and most affordable, but don't mind expense if it's relatively quicker) route possible.
Currently, I'm looking at an ADN at the local CC. I looked into Galen, as they claim their program is accelerated, but they require an LPN first (12 months) then the LPN to RN bridge (15 months) so ultimately not really faster (I'm looking at 6 semesters at the community college. So, hopefully only 24 months)
I have a basic math, that will get me into the nursing program here. They suggested (the advisor at the cc) I get an algebra if I'm going for MSN. Does Frontier care?
I have to take a CNA course to get in the nursing program. For that I need a "clean" background check. I got it and it shows a bench warrant (the same one is listed twice actually)
I'm pretty sure we paid it, but I'm guessing it shows up either way. Do you think this will disqualify me?
I'm currently a birth photographer, and have attended 7 thus far. I've attended one birth as a doula. I hope to do this more, as well as take a DONA training this fall. Any ideas if Frontier cares if I'm a certified doula or not?
