Ryerson BsCN? PLEASE HELP !

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Ok so I applied to George Brown College for Pre-Health Sciences after leaving my first year at YorkU with only 6 credits completed. I haven't done grade 12 sciences and I applied to GBC a few days after the deadline. What are my chances of getting into GBC? Will Ryerson look at high school, Uni, or College GPA when i apply to their 4 year collaborative BsCN program? PLEASE HELP !!!!! OH and if i apply to GBC for the January entry does it run through the summer and would i still be considered for admission into the Bscn for the same year?

I am at Humber for their prehealth program right now, and last year I asked GB about their prehealth program and apparently their program only allows you entry into their RPN program, not RN. However, this was last year and they told me they wanted to change the program to allow entry into the RN program, so now it may be different. I would ask them though!

While doing the prehealth program, the college is supposed to only look at that one year and not previous education.

Oh damn it! if i do my pre health at GBC would i still be able to apply for the collaborative program at Humber? or can i only do pre health at the same college/uni i plan to do my degree at?

Humber only accepts Humber pre health :( So it's really important that I get good grades or I'm SOL on getting into the BN program, since I can't apply anywhere else. It's not too late to apply to Humber though; I applied last May and got accepted. Humber has a great reputation with their nursing program.

What's the program called at Humber? or the code for the Program if you could tell me please!

Here is the link! General Arts and Science - Health, Science and Technology Profile - Humber College - Toronto, Ontario, Canada

It's called General arts and science- health science and technology profile. Code 09361

THANKS!! oh and just one more question, is it possible to apply to more than 5 college programs? or once you submit your payment for the application can you still change the college you applied too?

hmmm that I'm not sure one. Maybe you could apply to more if you pay for another 5? I guess you'd have to call ocas. Good luck and let me know what you end up doing!

Lol i figure it our after.. I removed one and just paid an extra $10 to send my university transcripts to Humber from York. Now i just really hope i get in.. I got an 86 in high school english and graduated with an 82% avg over all. What do you think my chances of getting in are considering the late application?

I think you should be fine. The GAS usually doesn't fill up right away, and you will have to write an admission test that they base acceptance on. It's an essay and a math component. The GAS programs are made for students who don't have the highest marks or the prereqs to get into their desired program, so with an 82% avg, you should definitely get in without a problem.

That is really reassuring considering how stressed out i've been for the past few days about not getting into a college for next year! what was the easy based on last year? and what kind of math should i review for the admission test? When do the admission Test usually take place anyway?

They give you a few different choices of essays. They were basically asking you something about yourself. They just wanna see your writing ability. I actually have a book I bought that they told me to get for the test if you wanted to buy it from me. One thing that isn't in it is the metric conversions. Know all of them! If you're coming right from highschool, you may not need it though. I hadn't done math in like 5 years before this.
