Preparing Myself...Advice?

Hey Everybody;
So...I am a single mom of a 6 year old boy, work full-time in as an Office Manager, and want to become a nurse. I realized that I wanted to become a nurse when my nephew was born - 16 weeks premature, with many health issues. To see the nurses work around the clock in the NICU diligently, helping my nephew to thrive, gave me a sense of great admiration for them. I could see in their faces that weren't just punching the clock and truly wanted my nephew to do well. Even to this day, with his ongoing medical issues - the nurses we meet along the way, are caring and capable.
I have wanted to help people all my life, work well under pressure, and have always had a great interest in medicine. With my boy in school himself, I thought now would be a good time to return as well. I have been researching schools, studying for the pre-entrance exams, and enrolling my family members into babysitting duty for the past year now.
With that being said, is there any single mom/dads out there working full-time (thankfully my current job is almost stress-free with plenty of downtime), going to school part-time or just doing the juggle and can offer me some sound advice on what to expect and how to handle it?

Smile Re: Preparing Myself...Advice?
Hi, my name is Brittany. I am finishing my last 2 pre-reqs before starting the nursing program. I am married, but my husband works 3rd shift and sleeps all day. So I feel like a single mom a lot of the time. I have two little boys 4 years old and 9 months old and I worked full time until my second son was born. The most hours I've taken is 9 hrs in a semester. Studying takes a lot of time and energy, but if you set your mind to it you can do it. I have a great support system, my dad watches my boys while Im in class at night. So hopefully you have friends or family that can help with your little boy. Just take it slow and study, study, study!! Good Luck.
