Pre-req questions

They're easy to find--any book superstore (Barnes and Noble, Borders, school bookstores, etc.) should have them, and so does Amazon. Here's what they look like:

Biology isn't difficult, but you need to read and study. Expect to have a science project due at the end of the quarter/semester. We had to write scientific paper on our projects. Chemistry-the key is to stay on top of the lesson. If you get behind, you will get lost. There's a great post on Chemistry. Do a search and you'll find it. STUDY HARD! Good luck, you're almost done!

Have you thought about CLEPping Biology? Since you've already gone through the course, you might just have to brush up on the things you forgot, and then you can take the test and be done with it. I CLEPped it, passed, and got 6 credit hours for it. Ask your student advisor before you do this to make sure your school will accept the CLEP credits first.

Not to burst your bubble...but Statistics doesn't mean squat! I know, I took the course. I've never needed statistics for any of the science prereqs. The best one to take is algebra...that'll at least help when you are looking for your X value. it is actually required in order to take chemistry.

While yes, anatomy is memorization...I believe that physiology requires a lot more indepth studying. As suggested...take Basic Bio and Chemistry and then A&P and Micro.

Thanks everyone...the tips are very much appreciated. Could I get a little more info on the CLEP? That would be awesome if I could do that....needless to say I'm not looking forward to taking basic bio again- I felt I understood the material. I'm not usually one to make excuses but boy those tests were tough.

I took chem and A&P together and got a A in both. You will have to be focused and you will have to study hard. You will have tons of memorizing for A&P so make flashcards. Chem will require you to use your math skills so brush up. Good luck!!!!

If you want to buy a study aid to brush up on the info, I recommend the Best Test Prep book. It gives you the run down of the course, and has several practice tests. The official CLEP guides only have 1 practice test. Good luck to you!

How are grades figured? I wound up with a 69% in basic bio in spring '04. If I get a B on this test, does that mean it will raise my grade to a C?
