Portamedic interview

by myleena

Hi everyone, I haven't been on this site for a while. Almost forgot how to post a thread. I am in BMCC now and have 3 classes to take before I am accepted into the nursing program.. I am so happy.. My GPA is 4.0
I was thinking on taking Mat 104 and Dev Psych 240 online. Microbiology need to know who is a good professor. I plan on taking classes in the evening and maybe a Sat.

I have a question concerning Porta Medic.. I had worked for Exam One for 3 years then left... Now I am trying to get into Port a medic and they want me to do some training and a online test of 4-6 hours long at home.
Wow... I didn't go through all that for Exam One. Did anyone go through this? If so, tell me about it please.. I am a little nervous.. I want to just work for them as a paramedical examiner... by going to clients jobs and homes collecting blood and urine.. paper work of course and vitals too.

I recently graduated with a AAS degree in Medical Assisting too.. looking for part time work..

If anyone is at BMCC please tell me your experiences at college and in the nursing Program..
Like how the Nursing Program Professors are.. and what to expect...

Myleena

I'm not sure if your school is included, but check out http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ for decent profs. I found the website very useful when I was doing my prereq classes.

Good luck!

Take the individual online ratings with a large grain of salt. You probably don't want somebody with a reputation for being a poor teacher, and also unwilling to help students.

Here's the info for my favorite prof (for pharmacology & pathophysiology): http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/Show...jsp?tid=237553

In looking at his reviews, there are comments like "he already hates you" and "Dr Becker is a great teacher". The truth is probably somewhere in between. He was NOT easy (even the students who liked him rate him low on the "easiness" category), but I found his expectations very clear. He was VERY demanding as a prof, and I liked that.

Ratemyprofessors.com is not the "do all & end all" for professor feedback. It does, however, give you info as to how the prof is rated by a number of past students.

Good luck!
