I don't know what to say. I really am so sorry for you. I can't imagine what you're going through, but I know many people on this site have gone through the same thing. I guess if you have any pre-req's left you can work on that or try and get some work or volunteer experience in healthcare, but just don't give up. If this is really what you what then you will get there! Hang in there! :icon_hug:

sorry to hear that you did not get in Tootsieny. I can only imagine how difficult it was to hear. Be strong, I know that you will find the energy to continue and even be more committed to why you wanted to do this in the first place. Best of luck to you.

    thank you Bayley and studygirl!
your kind words mean a lot to me! I
have no choice but to give it another shot next year! I am pretty sure that was my NLN score the reason why I was not accepted:-((( my gpa is 3.53 and my letters are excellent.I have A's in all my science courses and I completed almost all my prereqs( except nutrition and ethics).
I have a question to you guys: they said that if I will apply next year I should reopen my file in writing...I am not sure what that means! I will have to call and ask.
thank again and good luck to you in your first semester!:spin:

this is really what I want to do and nothing else! and I know I can do it.I have a passion for the medical field. My story started years ago, when I wanted to be a dentist.then life happened and I abandoned that dream.I have 11 years of experience in dentistry( I work as a surgical assist) but I would like to work in a hospital as a nurse better than in a dental office
nursing is a more complex and morefascinating field.

    tootsieny,
I was surprised that they did not accept you! You seems to be a qualified candidate for the program. Is the NLN scores is more important than experience, good GPA, and recommendation letters?? Why do you think they give that NLN exam? To weed people out because of the huge competition? It is sad. However, a lesson could be learned from that, not to apply to only one or two schools otherwise could be lost a year or half of the year.

Don't let this get you down, you'll get there, just keep at it! In the mean time just get the nutrition and ethics out of the way and work on any weak areas you had on the NLN. In regards to reopening your file for next time, I would guess it means you probably don't have to send in your transcripts and maybe your references again, but definitely call and make sure. Keep us updated on how things are going and hopefully we'll see you next year at PBISN. Good luck with everything! :hgu:

just apply earlier next year, maybe their seats filled up. I was surprised that you still did not receive a letter at this point, also apply to every school imaginable next year. Someone is bound to accept you into the program. Beth Israel is a GREAT school, but it doesnt define what kind of nurse youre going to be, good luck. I have faith you will get in next year.

I did call the school to find out what they mean by reapplying in writing is you're right, I just have to retake NLN ( btw when should I do that??? PBISON reopen the NLN seats for nex year's admission in January but I believe I could actually take it before that , in September...coz it I took it in March and I believe you can retest every six months or so.
or should I wait till January and study hard until then?
they also said that my gpa was very good, everything else was fine except my verbal section was not good I only scored 53:-((( Math 63 and science 89.
