Hi Everyone, the forum has been real quiet lately. Is everyone ok? has anyone else heard anything from Beth Israel? Have we all decided that we are going to choose BI?

I applied to both Beth Israel and Long Island school of nursing. I got the lettter this week that I didn't get into Beth Israel. Needless to say I was devistated. I want this so bad and I know the hard work that lies ahead. My mother was a nurse manager at the hospital I work in for 32 years. I know this is what I am meant to do and I just want the oppurtunity to prove how good I can be. I tanked on the math portion of the test only receiving a 36. The test was so fast and I ran out of time and had to bubble the answers. The verbal I did ok and the science I excelled but they seem to only want the "perfect " package. I've learned from experience working in the medical education department with the residents that what may seem good on paper is not also what it is made out to be. Some of the most compassionate doctors didn't start out with the best board score but later turned out to be some of the best doctors. Not just because of there heart but from scill as well. There hands on clinical experience made the text book come to life. I'm hoping LICHSON might give me a chance. Enough of me venting online.:typingGood luck to all of you. Hopefull I will bump into one of you and we'll be nurses.

want2beanurse -- Dont let it bring you down, we all come across a bump in the road one point or another. Look at the bright side, you have 6 months to practice your math skills. If it doesnt happen this year, then apply to ALL schools next year. Knock on everyones door, Im sure, almost positive someone will answer. Since youre looking at the Brooklyn area, did you try Touro? I got into their program even AFTER the deadline for admissions. The staff there is pretty nice, I have faith they will accept you next year. Theyre program is pretty new (started in 2005) yet their NCLEX pass rate is a lot better than LICHSON. Anyhoo, Im going to grab some dinner, I just wanted to give you some hope. Ive been in your shoes since 2002. If i got in, when I wanted it..Then who knows, I mightve flunked out the course.

Good luck to you, send me a PM if you want more information on schools and what not.

    kisses

    Hi all,
I still haven't heard anything. I left a message yesterday, but haven't heard back yet. My voice mail was full (agh!), so someone may have tried to call.

I know this sounds weird (I guess my whole app. story is weird!), but I'm most afraid of not getting in because some part of my million transcripts didn't arrive on time. I did send an email confirming that everything got there, but I didn't get any response either way. UGH.

I'm most afriad of not getting in because of some small mess-up on my part. I know there is a strong possibility I won't get in for other reasons. That I'm prepared for. Not happy, just prepared.

    Hi-
Have you tried speaking with Ms.Gallo? She has been very helpful and I have always been able to reach her. She should be able to tell you if they have all of your information. Hope that this helps.

Why this thread is so quite lately? Does people waiting for acceptance or already are accepted into program? What is going on? Or interviews are still carried out?

    Hi everyone!
I spoke with Ms. Gallo last week. She said that they were still reviewing applications. She is really as lovely as everyone has said.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but...I can't help it. I know it's a long shot to get in this year. I know that school is only the beginning of being a nurse, but I'm really set on this one school. I really want to learn how to be a nurse at Beth Israel. I'm sure other schools have a lot to offer, I'm just fixated on this one.

    *Hugs to anyone not accepted*...
Good luck to anyone who is still waiting....
    Congratulations to anyone accepted!

    Best,
    Meytal
