i think you're right. Microbio is usally one of the courses you can get into nursing school without. However, the schools in my area are so competitive that i would like to take the course and get an A to improve my transcript. it would also take some weight off my shoulders.

dunno if i should go for it or not? chem is the only course thats optional..

Also,i need A's in everything i take...
Hi Ryan,
don't take 3 science courses with lab in one semester even though you don't any social life/work. They are all heavy loaded science classes. Take A&P1, Chem and one/two elective next semester; A&P 2, Micro and one/two elective in the following semester. Unlike "on eagle wings", her/his Micro class doesn't have lab and Math was pretty easy course.

i really wanna take advantage of having no work and no social life and destroy these courses. but at the same time i dont want to bite off more than i can chew...

Grades are very important for getting into nursing program. don't screw the transcript. Micro and A&P 1&2 are prereq. for all the RN programs in CA (maybe not for the school you are going to apply). If you get "A"s on these classes, you will have a better advantage than people don't.

It sounds like you have more free time than you wanted. Why don't you do some volunteer at local hospital? They look very good on your nursing application.

I really think you should see an adviser at your local NS. Maybe he or she can give you advice of some kind. I know your mind must be all over, mine was too until I got things cleared out with my adviser lol. It can be real nerve wrecking. But try to really think about the consequences of taking all that stuff together. :| Advisers which specialize in pre-admission see tons of people in our situation each term and sure enough find a way to help us out. Mine helped me sooooooo much today! Please go asap, I really hope you get this cleared out in your mind!

I totally forgot about this. This is excellent advice. Unfortunately I won't be able to due to a surgical procedure coming up and I have to rest as much as I can before Spring.... But it would be awesome if O'Ryan could get some hours done. My AP professor said that those who have clinical experience of any kind or any kind of volunteering at a clinical environment will be considered more. That is a big deal considering my local NS admits solely on GPA...
