A&P I: Fall '05 Anatomy & Physiology Club

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

So, I'm in! I've got this and College algebra and I'm DONE with all my pre-reqs and related courses. I dropped this this past Spring, so I know how hard it is. Hopefully I'll have a better instructor this time that actually knows how to teach the class.

First off I need to throw a cute lil hissy fit. I had a quiz on the skeleton, and I went into class pretty psyched and confident. I know this stuff, seriously. I mised up osteoblast and osteocast. Then when it came to bones, he gave us the most obscure bones he could think of. *dies* the highest I got was a 60%

Let's see, I took my first exam and scored a 139/200 (class average was 125/200). I was one point from making a C on the exam *quite disappointing*

I am still in high spirits that I can make an A in the class-just have to study better. Is anyone else in the boat I am: taking a good 3 other classes (psych, history & govt) along with A&P as I am for example??? If so, how do you handle such a load? I'm feelin a little overwhelmed and am just in need of some encouragement. Thanks!

I'm taking a rather nasty load right now too. A&P, Chem, and Wmn Studies Global Perspective. I really am still trying to figure out how exactly I'm handling it as well as I am. Somedays it feels like I'm going to drown, but I take it step by step, one thing at a time, and try to forget I have piles more to do.

Well the results for our first A&P 1 exam are in - they were not pretty for the class as a whole; the average was a 68% or so. I was able to score 1 of the six A's. The prof. refused to curve which was nice to see for once.......

Besides A&P 1, I am taking oral speech and communication, Psych which is Human sexuality 2. Next semester, I want to take statistics and A&P 2. For me, I give A&P more priorty, because thankfully human sexuality 2 is an experimental class, and have take home tests instead of the usual. Oral speech is not too bad it's just getting over the phobia of standing in front of a group of people. Don't sweat it though, just study when you can and then give yourself a "brain break" so you don't burn out. :)

I was searching for images of slides and bones for my Lab Praktical and found this site. It's really good, slides are very similar to the ones in my Lab. Check it out A&P students.

This is a great site. We just studied this and unfortunately due to time constraints can't spend a whole lot of time looking at the slides and my practical is in 3 weeks.

Thanks

Hey Cheryl. U still have 3 weeks, so u should be awright. But what I like about this site is that, I don have to find extra time to open hours in lab and beg the technician to let me in for longer time to look at the slides, cause I found this site now . :)

People share your own ways of how succesfully u're studying, how learning the bones... besides just reading that big book

Thanks for sharing this site, its acutally likes just like to ones in lab. Like many I don't always have time for open lab this is perfect. Thanks again.

U're welcome. Good luck in all your tests.

Thanks Malika - I haven't had a chance to thoroughly check it out yet - but I have saved it to my favorites for future reference. We are just now getting started on tissues, so I have a feeling it might come in handy. ;)

*frets* We've been out of school since last Wednesday due to Hurricane Rita. During that time, I didn't even think about A&P! We received a very late notice type email that we're still going to have our 100 question lab practical today. Well, not still, it was supposed to happen Tuesday. Man, I aced my first test, I hope I don't bomb my lab practical. We've not even covered tissues due to missed classes. *frets*
