HI KThurmond! I'm a non traditional student and mom and everything is going okay in that area!

I made it through prereqs, LVN school and now RN school as an older than average student!

I'm a little closer in age and life experiences to my instructors ages than the majority of my classmates, but that just inspires me to achieve academic success!

I've read your story through several threads. I'm happy for you. You've made it through alot. As far as age goes I feel thats an advantage. I'm not into partying and stuff and never really was but being older your past the young phase and know how to study and such.

Good luck

Rocking it! I've got a 2.5 yo and this is my second career. I was invited to the nursing honor society as I have gotten all As and only 1 B so far in nursing classes

I'm glad you know who I "am" so to speak, KThurmond!

I must admit though, I did learn how to party after making great friends with younger gals in school.

I'll attribute that to me being "stifled" previously, lolol!

That's great  especially in the actual nursing classes. How did you manage your child and prerequisites?

Lol. It didn't affect your success so that's all that matters. When I was taking classes for phlebotomy certification we girls would get drinks at applebees after a test. It was a good time. I read alot of threads before coming a member so many people I know a little history on I guess you'd say.

That's great! Good luck getting into the nursing program. It's not too often you hear from many guys on here. Mothers are mostly the ones who comment.

Since this is my second career I didn't need any pre reqs only to retake A&P2 because mine was apparently "too old" but I was able to take that between 1st and 2nd semester. My sole B was in mental Heath and I only missed the A by 0.2 points!

I have a very good support system. Daycare. In laws nearby. Husband that keeps the dishes clean and vacuums occasionally - but that's another topic. Lol

Basically, I study when I can. I make time for family time. I don't do much with study groups. I study at weird hours of the night when everyone is sleeping. I have a fantastic coffee maker and a Starbucks gift card [emoji23]

It can be done. My house is a mess and we order take out or out the freezer section/out of cans more than I'd like to admit. But it will be worth it.

In class, not so bad considering I have done a few other things prior to this, but I am totally struggling on the home front. I have support in some aspects, but seems to be conditional support. I need time management, understanding and flexible support, but I guess that's too much to ask...?

That had to make you happy not to have to redo classes. Thats good you have a good support system. Don't feel bad, my house looks terrible during the week and I clean it on the weekends. I eat more snacks instead of full meals. I hardly cook.
