I'm looking at the ACE program.

3 Hours Sociology
3 Hours Psychology
3 Hours Dev/Psych
3 Hours Ethics
3 Hours Nutrition
4 Hours Chemistry
4 Hours Microbiology
4 Hours Anatomy
4 Hours Physiology
3 Hours Computer Science
3 Hours Statistics

The only think I don't know if I have is the computer science because I don't know what they count as computer science, and the ethics. I'm not sure if where I'm taking my pre-reqs even offers an ethics class that I can take not being in their nursing program. I need to find this all out and call them, because it might not be an option for me.

Yea the ethics and computer science would be in ? Even Psych for me.. b/c I took a Psych class but it had to do with leadership not gen psych. I had to take a computer class for Business.. but I will have to call them as well..
Oh boy so many apps and schools to figure out and enough time !

I'm taking intro to psych right now, and I plan on taking dev psych in the spring. Stonybrook also wants social psych so if I wind up applying there, I need to take that in the spring also. The only other thing I need for the spring is going to be Microbio! And hopefully nursing school somewhere in the fall.

Right now I'm really leaning towards Thomas Jefferson I think as my number 1, Pace as my number 2, Drexel and then Stonybrook/LIU.

Hi hpfulRN-NJ,
I just submitted my application online and am sending my documents/transcripts this week. Have you heard anything yet from NYU? I am nervous, because my previous GPA wasn't great, but I applied as a traditional transfer student because I would plan on taking my pre-reqs at NYU, and then moving on to the 15 month program, which is what they suggested at the Open House.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on everything?
I am trying not to think about it or be nervous about it, but it was the only place I applied and I really want to become a nurse!
Good luck to you!

Hi Autumn Love,
I have not yet heard anything back, but the deadline was Oct 1 for the accel prog. So I am sure in the next few weeks, I am assuming mid-late November I should know. My friend is actualy doing the tranfer track and is loving it so far! Dont be discouraged my GPA for undergrad was 3.2 so it wasnt like a 4.0 at all. I think they do look at everything and want a person that well best fir their classroom. I think people have alot more to offer than just grades. The essay ?'s were interesting right?? LOL.. I really want to be a nurse too and Im just keeping my fingers crossed b/c its my 1st choice. All the best to you and please keep me posted

Yes, they were interesting-the movie and the poen questions were the worst! They may come away from my application thinking I am some sort of emotional freak from my poem!
Thanks for the info-good luck and keep me posted also!
I have been thinking about how much debt I will be in and the odd hours I will probably have to work after I graduate, but I still want to go into the program.
Are you still in NJ? If you are accepted will you move into the city or commute?

I hear you about the debt! the movie question was hard and so was the poem. I am sure your poem was great! My poem was kind of funny.. you just never know what they are looking for..I would plan on living in nyc.. its always been my dream. I know thats gonna drive my bills into insanity.. but i think its gonna be so worth it. I am currently living in north Jersey finishing up my pre-req's..Im at the edge of my seat everyday just waiting!!!!

Yea the debt will be insane and because I live in the city (with my boyfriend but still rent is NOT CHEAP!) I will have to get more loans to pay for my living expenses while in school......while I haven't done too much research on this, I think some hospitals may offer tuition reimbursement up to a certain limit per year...I have no idea what the details of this are, but if that is true, then it would help a great deal with the debt I am sure...
Don't worry-I will give you the advice I am telling myself-that if you are meant to go into this program then you will be accepted. If not, then there is something better for you out there(you just might not know what/where it is yet) that will all work out for your best interests.
Don't worry though! Keep me posted-it helps the anxiety!
