I am sure it is still tough to get into any of these schools, but I thought it would be a good reference for folks who have hit the wall.

just remember that a lot of schools don't have waitlists, but there may be a lot of people applying for those spots. A poster on this board mention that her school had more than 1,000 people applying for just 60 spots. There is a school up my way with no wait list, but if you have below a 3.9 average then you don't have a chance of getting in.

Sometimes waiting isn't so bad. I waited for a year and got most of my classes out of the way. At the time my school had a 3 year waitlist, but so many people dropped off 'cause they were sick of waiting. That's how I got in so quickly...so don't give up hope!!!

totally agree!! my school doesnt have a wait list but there are 140 slots for 900 applicants.. very competitive mybe a waitlist wouldnt be so bad

No wait list in calui, but you better be praying because we got 35 spots for 900 plus apps. Plus it's all lotto so GPA means nothing.

Very good point! A lot of programs do not use wait lists instead you have to reapply every year if you don't get in. Thats how it is at the program I am on the alternate list for. They get close to 1000 applications for 160 seats. I am an alternate so I get a seat if someone drops their's but it doesn't look like that is going to happen for spring semester so I have to reapply during the next application period.

Yeah, the school I just graduated from was on the list in the original post. Lots of applicants for limited spots. if you don't get in, you reapply year after year. With no guarantee of getting in the next year!

"no wait lists" is just a tag line to get EVEN MORE applicants towards their program, making the competition for seats stronger, and therefore, making your potential wait to get into said program even longer. THey sure aren't creating more spots in these programs, i bet.

The school I attend,Alfred State College, doesn't have a waiting list also.

Hey, I know you submitted your original post a couple years ago but I was wondering if you could give me some info on Alfred State College nursing program. I start this fall. I actually challenged NUR II and passed so I will be starting in NUR III. Can you give me some insight? Are you working as a nurse yet? Did you feel prepared for the N-CLEX? How are the professors and clinical sites? Any info would be much apprecicated. :nuke:

nevergonnagiveup, what were your grades like to get into alfred state? im considering applying to them
