NLN PAX Review Guide

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey,

This coming august, I will be a pre-nursing student. As of right now, I am going through some NLN review guides but I am having some difficulty.

The red book that many schools recommend (Review Guide For RN Pre-Entrance Exam) has many difficult questions that I seem to always be getting wrong, no matter what method I try. But, in another review guide I have (McGraw Hill's 5 NLN Pax RN Practice Tests), the questions are quite easy and answerable, which is puts me in an awkward position.

Does the red book imitate the actual difficulty of the real exam? Especially the verbal section? Or are both books good in order to prepare for the test?

Thank you.

bump

From what I've read & other people have told me, the actual NLN test for RN is much closer to the red RN review guide book. I myself am in the process of going through that book too! Good luck!

I'm using the Red book titled "Review Guide for RN Pre-Entrance Exam- Third Edition" and "McGraw Hills Nursing School Entrance Exams". I take it tomorrow and I'll post my results afterwards. Wish me luck! ☺️

@Jessika1252 and @Sushinenursee thank you guys for responding! I hope we all do well!! :inlove:

I used both books mainly for the math & science sections. Whatever your weakest subjects are, I would concentrate on that. I didn't think that overall it was a difficult test, but some of the questions do seem like they are from left field. Just make sure when doing the practice tests that you are timing yourself. Good luck! I took mine on 6/29 and got the score I needed for my program.
