Need serious Advice

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Waiting on acceptance for upcoming fall only prereqs I'm missing is a&pii...I know nursing school is very busy, my heart is in it so i think learning the information would be more fun than challenging my ? Is ....for this summer schedule should I take a&pii (I still plan to be enrolled 12hrs in the fall anyway...financial aid) or would it be more sufficient if I gaind a cnaii certification just to gain that clinical experience & possibly obtain parttime employment @ a hospital. I am a mother of three w/ a very supportive husband......need help & really want to gain as much experience possible. I plan to further education & become crna!!!! Help me please

My understanding is that you have to complete all the pre-reqs before you can start nursing school. How would you be able to take A&P 2 and nursing classes at the same time?

If it were me I would go ahead and take A&P I don't know if you meant A&P I or A&P 2. The thread was a little confusing to follow, I'm not use to reading text language and I'm 18. Anyway, being that you have three kids I'd go for getting in nursing school and getting out. A CNA wouldn't hurt but from my basic understanding is that a CNA just gives more hands on experience and if you want that you can volunteer at a hospital or something like that on your own time. Individuals without a CNA still succeed at being a RN. Just my opinion :)

However, some nursing programs require you to have a CNA. So, I would check to make sure it's not required before signing up for any class for the summer.

If financial aid is what you worry about this summer is a different financial aid term than the upcoming fall semester. CNA training is very short and also cheap. You could do that while you're doing AP1 or 2. It's a long enough process so don't waste any time. Also network as much as you can during school so you have more contact when you graduate. If you're lucky enough to work as a CNA somewhere that you would want to be a nurse then thats even better. Make sure they love you. I've learned this all from experience. Good luck.

This is hard to read. After reading again I think I see what you're asking. I'd take AP2 this summer and get it out of the way. You need the best grade possible to be more competitive when applying. Hopefully you get in without it. I know every RN program is different.

Do apologize for the TEXT STYLE writing....it was A&PII lol the nursing program does require CNAI...the A&P are pereqs BUT they are not required to have. I am currently waiting on 2 acceptance notification....I just wanted some input....summer schedule will be paid out of pocket...but after reading post & taking others advice....I guess I should get A&PII out of the way & just work on BSN prereqs w/ NUR 111....thanks

First, I hope you don't always type like that. Secondly, there would be no point in completing a CNA II class. Finish AnP II.

The first thing you should do is to learn to type professionally and correctly. I don't mean to sound like an *******, but this is just a pet peeve of mine. Incorrect spelling and/or abbreviations make you look uneducated, whether that be true or not.

First I think you need to gain a spell check ;) Jokes aside I think it would be beneficial to become a CNA and work while going to school. Finish your classes!! You can do it!! Good luck!

I thought this was a website for potential future nurses not grammar educators. It was not that serious!! Please do not question my education status due to abbreviations on a "social" network!!! This is a second...career for me so been there..done that. Please stop being so judgemental b/c....ooops sorry...because a good nurses does not judge!! Moving along please thank you!!!

We are judgmental because your teachers we be 10x worst then we are. We want you to succeed and to follow your dream that's why we take the time to criticizer you. We have all been to nursing school. We know what hell awaits you. We have been through it. Grammar is a big part of Nursing; the ability to communicate with fellow nurses, supervisors and doctors can be life saving or life giving. My wife, who has a Masters in History says the first step in the fall of a civilization is the degeneration of it's language. Texting is ruining ours. We are all pulling for you. That is why we criticize.
